![]() ![]() I'm 50/50 on ] also because of the disproportionate hate it pulls. One other thing I'd like to note, I shy away from ] because the land theft puts too big of a target onto you. Everybody usually picks 2 and 3 power creatures, but you could make a 4,5,6 power deck. I think theres even space to trailblaze with grenzo. ] is criminally underplayed considering grenzo against a theft deck is DOA. You could pick a knight sub-theme and play ] as secret commander with ]. ] is good with aristocrat stuff, and is a wincon if you end up in an infinite mana loop. Grenzo, ] or ] with altar will likely let you cycle through your deck from the bottom up. I’m trying to figure out the direction of build I. While Card Kingdom receives and graded my cards, I have a lot of time to think of what I want to do with my store credit. I’ve been looking for a commander outside my color comfort zone, and I’ve settled on Grenzo, Dungeon Warden. My favorite line is Grenzo, chalice, ashnod's altar and ] milling the table. Looking for inspiration with Grenzo, Dungeon Warden. ![]() So I've always tried to shoehorn as many diverse combo lines as possible. ], ], and ] enable some pretty crazy combos, but are (justifiably) absolute hate magnets. I play him like a combo piece slot machine, and try to rube goldberg a win together. the games feel very different and is also very easily modified by simply changing some creatures for others that do different things is funny, has the powerof uncontereable instant speed random creatures. This grenzo deck is my personal favourite when playing edh. Use Grenzos ability to flip the creature and reactivate the ETB. Creature is automatically placed on the bottom of the library. the creatures on the list are focused on comboing but you can add more goblins and make a more tribal aproach that focus on having a lot of them appear just before your turn begins to alpha strike someone Grenzo, Dungeon Warden + The Cauldron of Eternity + Any Sac Outlet + Any creature 1. the deck still runs perfectly.ītw, grenzo doesnt really need the creatures on this particular list, he just needs creatures with low power that do things when they enter and a lot of them, at least 50% of the deck, but better if you have more (my particular list runs 56 including grenzo) so that half the time that grenzo is activated you get something. my version of the deck is somewhat similar to the ones explained there, but for example, my mana base is nowhere that expensive, i dont run any fetch lands for example. is quite budget and the expensive cards are not really neccesary, apart from maybe kiki-jiki. the doomsday one being cedh this one is the one to play if you are playing with a regular group. There are a few older cards in Black that support artifacts, (namely the functionally identical ] and ] that can turn your artifact creatures, if they've outlived their usefulness or are about to die anyways, into more Grenzo activations.I will refer you to a primer of the deck: Īpart from the doomsday grenzo deck, this aproach is the most competitive in my opinion. Red's suite of cards that care about artifacts or artifact creatures (a quick look at Daretti's or Feldon's list on EDHrec should reveal the basics)īeing able to run most of the Clockwork and Arcbound cycles can be fun :P There are a number of powerful artifact creatures that enter with +1/+1 counters on them (], ], ], ], ], ] etc) that still get hit by Grenzo, even if you cast him for X = 0.Ĭreatures that do great work if you're running an artifact-matters theme, such as ], ], ] If you're up for some experimentation, Grenzo can actually be a rather interesting artifact commander (to manipulate the bottom of your library, you're going to need a fair number of artifacts, and so I've found that by embracing the theme has produced an fun and unique deck): ![]() If you're interested in giving yourself a challenge, you could even cast Grenzo for x=0 if you keep your creatures power 2 or less.ĮDHrec is a helpful place to start, but, as I've found with some commanders that seem to be go-tos for particular tribal strategies, its recommendations become a bit muddled if you're not interested in going the B/R Goblin tribal route. His greatest strength is his activated ability and really what you want to be doing is activating it as much as possible, and as soon as possible. Having been playing with Grenzo for a while, let me tell you that the small creature route is absolutely the way to go with Grenzo. ![]()
